Château d'Yquem Sauternes Grand Cru 2006

€700,00

Undoubtedly the most beautiful color of recent vintages, that of 2006, in this balanced and airy harvest. The color of Yquem 2006 is light amber, with delicate golden and greenish reflections. The wine appears rich and "oily". The nose of this great Sauternes is inspired by both the aromatic purity and the concentration of the jams. Specifically, the 2006 Yquem offers a caramelized texture, intensely staging melon, quince, fresh cherry plum, citrus fruits, pineapple and mint.

TASTING NOTES
At sight, it presents itself with a brilliant golden yellow color. The olfactory spectrum is very varied, with fruity aromas of quince, apricot, coconut, and papaya, intertwined with notes of marzipan, hazelnut, and spices. On the palate, it is full, round, and deep, with an excellent structure that facilitates drinking.

PAIRINGS
A legendary wine, therefore to be reserved for important ingredients. Perfect with foie gras escalope and blue cheeses, it is definitely worth trying with shellfish.

PRODUCER
Chateau d'Yquem is a name of absolute international prestige, with over 4 centuries of history. In 1855, at the behest of Napoleon III, the Chateau's properties were awarded the title of "Premier Cru Supérieur" in the official classification of Bordeaux wines. What had until then been a vast property owned by the noble Lur-Saluces family became a reference point of excellence for wine enthusiasts worldwide. Still today, the only Sauternes production entity to hold this title of absolute prestige.
