Syrah "Achelo" from the La Braccesca - Antinori winery in the Montepulciano and Cortona area is a multifaceted and exuberant red . It is an international grape variety planted in the suitable Tuscan land that gives rise to a pure and clear territorial expression. This red therefore becomes an engaging story, in which the content is modulated by an unusual shape and is transmitted with a French accent that gives the frank personality of the territory a distinctive charm. The La Braccesca winery divides the 508-hectare property into two production areas: one in Montepulciano and one at the foot of the Cortona hills, from which this particular and expressive Syrah comes.
"Achelo" is a Syrah obtained from the 100% vine of the same name. The bunches are harvested and transported to the Cortona cellar, where they are crushed and destemmed and the must obtained is subjected to cold maceration in the pre-fermentation phase which enhances the characteristics and freshness of the fruit. An alcoholic fermentation of about 10 days follows and, partly within second and third passage barriques and partly in steel, the malolactic fermentation. Bottling completes the entire winemaking process.
The Braccesca "Achelo" is a Syrah with a dark and deep purple-red color with violet reflections. The black fruity texture of blackberry and currant emerges on the nose, firmly intertwined with the characteristic spicy timbre which characterizes the vine. In the mouth it echoes with notes of licorice and ripe dark fruit, which determines a soft and enveloping sip. The tannin is present but well managed, integrated with the full body and crisp freshness. A riot of perfumes that involves and tells the face of a great vine in a great land.
